A small school with deep roots.

Musikili has offered a diverse and relevant education to its community since 1987 — a family school in a unique country setting.

Who we are

Grown “free range”.

Musikili Primary School offers a unique education experience for Grade RRR to Grade 7, including weekly, flexi and occasional boarding from Grade 1 on our Mazabuka campus. We also cater for Grade R, 1 and 2 learners at our Lusaka satellite school.

As you enter through an avenue of trees, the sounds of birds are replaced by the laughter of children. Surrounded by sugar cane fields, in a unique country setting, Musikili is an ideal environment to grow “free range” children. We are a family school, and our small community allows for a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

We strive to deliver an internationally recognised curriculum in an engaging and enriching environment, while never forgetting the importance of family values. Our boys and girls understand the essence of our seven core values and the traditions associated with our school, while embracing innovation and opportunity, marked by personal excellence.

Our vision

To create an exceptional place of learning built on a strong sense of community and a unique ethos — developing our children into future leaders through a holistic education.

Our mission

Values are an integral part of our teaching, because it is important that our children use their skills and talents to uplift others. These soft skills form the foundation of our teaching and inspire our children to contribute meaningfully to society.

From the Head

Welcome to Musikili.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Musikili Primary School, a very special place where children are encouraged to learn, grow, explore and discover their full potential. Situated in the heart of Zambia’s sugar cane region, our school enjoys beautiful surroundings that provide a wonderful setting for learning, adventure and creativity. Since opening our doors in 1987, Musikili has been committed to providing a diverse and meaningful education.

I feel privileged to be part of a school filled with dedicated staff, enthusiastic children, supportive parents and a strong sense of belonging. Our Mazabuka campus caters for children from Grade R to Grade 7, with weekly boarding facilities available from Grade 1. We also welcome Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 2 learners at our satellite school in Lusaka.

I believe that every child has unique talents and abilities that deserve to be nurtured. Through our balanced academic curriculum and varied extracurricular programme, we encourage learners to develop their knowledge, creativity, confidence and personal interests. We want our children to enjoy their learning journey while building the skills and values they need to become responsible, capable and well-rounded individuals.

Our school motto, “With Effort Comes Success,” lies at the heart of everything we do. I believe that success comes through perseverance, determination, discipline and a willingness to learn from both successes and setbacks. We encourage our learners to embrace challenges, take pride in their efforts and understand that progress comes from consistently giving their best. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field or through creative activities, we aim to instill a strong work ethic and the confidence to pursue their goals. For me, success is not only about academic results, but also about the growth, resilience and character our children develop along the way.

I also recognize that the success of Musikili depends on the strength of our relationships with parents and the wider community. Our community plays a major role in the growth and success of our school, and I greatly value the support, involvement and shared commitment of everyone who forms part of the Musikili family. By working together, we create a positive and supportive environment.

One of my greatest joys is seeing our learners grow and celebrate their achievements. We are equally delighted by the accomplishments of our Old Musikilians, whose successes reflect the strong foundations established during their time at Musikili. As our children move on to leading international senior schools, they take with them the knowledge, values and determination that will help them face future challenges with confidence. Their achievements inspire us to continue building on the rich history and traditions of our school.

I warmly invite you to discover what makes Musikili Primary School such a special place. I encourage you to visit us, meet our learners and hardworking staff. Together, we will continue to nurture every child’s potential, encourage a love of learning and inspire our learners to strive for excellence, remembering always that with effort comes success. I look forward to welcoming you to the Musikili family.
